Gambling is a gamble itself, but so are other ways of making money, such as starting a business and investing in stocks. It's true some play more of a risk than the other. Gambling is a very high risk, true, but if you gamble right and have some self-control you can find yourself losing little or gaining a lot. Also, make sure you have a good understanding of whatever game you are playing.

Another good thing to do is when you gamble set your limit. Once you reach your limit don't go past it for anything. Tell yourself that's enough, “I can't afford to lose the money for next month's bill or for my car or file for bankruptcy and be a bum". I don't think you or anyone else would want to be in any of those predicaments! Also, gamble whenever you can afford to and don't gamble frequently like everyday or every few days. You'll be more susceptible to addiction. Gamble a little (5% or less of your paycheck) once a week to the maximum. If it is a lifestyle I suggest you be careful, just play it really safe and just gamble every once in a while or so. You don't want to get addicted!

Follow these tips and everything will be okay. I guarantee you won't be in any type of MC Hammer situation. In the meantime play some games for free online and then play for money later if you're ready to. Just remember to keep my words and your pockets in mind, whether online or offline.
