Exposing Acne Myths

If you are suffering from Acne, you already know that there is a lot of misinformation floating around. Here are some common myths that can actually make your acne worse.

Myth1 Scrub your face clean Never scrub your face if you have acne. You will actually irritate your face more and can cause scarring. Gently wash your face only twice a day and not every ten minutes. Baby your face, and your face will clear up faster.

Myth 2 Chocolate causes acne Recent studies suggest that chocolate or other foods do not cause acne. You should however eat a balance diet of healthy foods, such as fruits, vegetables, cereals, etc. to make sure you receive vitamins and nutrients that will help enhance your skin.

Myth 3 Tanning will help your acne Actually over-exposure to the sun can hurt your acne. Yes, the color covers up the acne temporarily, but many acne products that you use are sensitive to the sun and can harm and damage your skin if you receive to much sun.

So if you are suffering from acne, keep in mind that these myths are incorrect. With so much misinformation floating around it is important to educate yourself to diagnose and treat your acne safely and effectively.
