Some Foods Can Be Helpful When Taking An Exam

If you are a student and want to be fresh for an exam here are some foods that can help you give you the edge. There has been plenty of advice given to students as to what to consume before taking an important exam. Many people don't put that much thought into how they should prepare for a big exam, but preparation can give you a needed boost.

Preparation should actually take place the day before the big test. If you were a good student, you should not have to cram exam. Studying only the last couple of days does limit retention. A person that has been studying for a couple of weeks is far more likely to remember important information than a crammer. You should also make sure that you are well rested. Sometimes it could be nerve racking the night before an exam, but try to remain relaxed and limit your consumption of caffeine and alcohol in the evening.

It is recommended that you get at least 7 hours of sleep. However 8 to 9 hours is more advantageous. The better rested you are, the less fatigued you will feel. Start off your day with a decent breakfast. You don't want to eat too much or too little, just enough not to feel hungry. You should have some fruits and juices. Make sure you are not dehydrated. Before the test, have something sweet like a candy bar or cookies. You can even have a cup of coffee. During the exam if you are given a short break, have a fruit or a cookie.

Following these easy steps will help you do your best on the exam.
