Home moms on eBay

As a home mom, you will find on eBay a great possibility to create a
second or part-time income. Many home moms are making some money and
having some fun at the same time on eBay!

To start you will only need a computer, a digital camera and some
spare change. All that selling on eBay requires for a home mom is to
pack and send the items you sell, and that you obviously keep control
of how much you make. As you can see, this is perfectly combinable
with the daily tasks of a home mom.

First of all you will need to have an account on eBay. It does not
take longer than 5 minutes to open it. Then, start by buying a few
items so you can also get the experience of being a customer.

Once you have an idea of what buying is like, and you have browsed the
categories and made yourself familiar with the market that awaits you,
you can start selling.

Start collecting those cute but old soft toys, those gifts you were
given and never liked, the fancy jar that you bought long ago and never
used. Take nice and clear pictures of them, make sure that the items
look good, without touching the photograph so much that it does not
resemble to the actual item.

Write a good description of the item in the listing, including bits like
how you got the item (people like stories), how old it is, if it is special
for any reason (i.e. is part of a collection of rare tea cups), if it
has any important flaw or is damaged. If this is the case, you should
always let your potential buyers know. Nothing worst than an upset
customer that has just realized that the beautiful ornament dish they
bought from you is badly scratched on one of the sides, and you didn't
say so in the listing. You would not like to be in that position as a
customer.

Once you start realising which items sell better, and the price you can
ask for them, you will be ready to move your eBay business to another
step. You will consider trying different types of auctions, improving your
listings, focus on the type of customer that would buy from you.

You can also make your business look more professional by buying headed
letters and sending a compliment slip with your items. If you also include
a small gift your customers will feel obliged to you.

Later on you can expand your eBay business by finding the items that
sell in flea markets, garage sales, etc, and selling them on eBay for a
profit. You can also trade with wholesalers and sell a type of item or
create an eBay shop for it.

Your hobbies and passions can also be a source of income on eBay: you can
sell the pottery or the hand-craft works you make. Other possibility is
selling or reselling information, which includes public domain.
