Restaurants can now take full advantage of the Internet to increase food orders

Americans are now seeing the advantage of ordering take-out food from restaurants. With American families spending more and more time on the road, it's now apparent that being able to order prepared food that the entire family can eat in the comfort of their own home is becoming more common and popular everyday. The New York Time's recently printed an article stating that take-out orders increased by 20% in 2004 and were expected to continue increasing at a fairly rapid pace in 2005 and beyond.

With the proliferation of the Internet and fax machines, many restaurants now provide a graphic copy of their menu on-line. The consumer simply reviews the restaurants menu, and either faxes in their order, or calls in their order to the restaurant to be picked up in about 30 to 45 minutes.

The fact is "time" is becoming a critical commodity to Americans and American families. Quality family time is achieved in the household, not in busy noisy restaurant where the waiting line can be up to an hour long in some cases. Some of the nation's largest restaurant chains like Outback Steak House, Applebee's, Chilies and other chains now offer curbside food delivery. Why? Its simple, mom and/or dad can place the order over the cell phone and pick the order up on the way home from the office. No need to disrupt everyone's schedule by packing into the car, fighting traffic and then waiting for 30 to 60 minutes to be seated.

I don't know about you but I'd much rather eat food at my favorite restaurant in the comfort of my home, watching one of my favorite cable shows. No waiting in lines, no rushing to finish my food so someone else can be seated, no incompetent wait staff, no rude people talking on their cell phones or talking at a decibel level that could break a glass.

Give me the ability to order take-out food anytime, anywhere and I'll be a happy camper.
