There are many sleeping disorders that affect Americans each year. The most common are Insomnia, Sleep Apnea and Narcolepsy. If you have difficulty falling asleep and staying a sleep then you maybe suffering from Insomnia.

Insomnia is defined as the inability to fall asleep and have a quality restful sleep. Many people who have insomnia do not sleep that many hours per night and are extremely tired and fatigued. Insomnia can affect their professional and personal lives. Here are some practical tips for treating Insomnia.

*Stay away from caffeine. Many people don't realize that the reason they can't fall asleep is that they just had a coffee, tea, or chocolate a few hours before going to bed

*Try not to worry at bed time. Many people are stressed out and can't relax when they lay down to go to bed. Try to be relaxed and not to think of your problems during bed time.

*Don't drink alcohol. Although it may calm your nerves. Alcohol stops you from getting a good nights rest. You might be asleep but the quality of sleep will be poor
