Should You Use A Blog Or A Custom Design For Your Adsense Site?

So you've decided to take the plunge and try to make some decent adsense revenue.
You've picked your subject, done your keyword research, set up your google adsense account, started writing your optimized content, and got a hosting account.
Now comes the hard part - the website.
Everybody knows that when it comes to adsense revenue, content is king. Good, interesting, optimized, focussed content provides you with the best chance of maximizing revenue from your adsense site.
So, how far should you go with the design of your site? Think of your favourite website, you know, the one you go to when you want information about a subject that interests you. Can you describe the layout of the site? I bet you can't describe much about it beyond the basic colours and how many columns it has.
Taking this to its logical conclusion - it doesn't really matter what your site looks like if your content is compelling and valuable to your readers. As long as they can navigate it comfortably, and find value in your content, they'll stick around, and possibly click your ads, increasing your adsense revenue, and after all, that's why we're all here, isn't it?
Herein lies the value of blogging software. Most blogging software is search engine friendly, and makes publishing content as simple as pressing a few buttons. Wouldn't you rather spend your time writing quality content than mucking around in the bowels of your HTML? Your readers don't care about how much time you spent creating a flash animation, they want content.
So, in conclusion - unless you are highly proficient in creating optimized sites with database back-ends, grab yourself a cheap hosting account with pre-installed blogging scripts, install some software, and concentrate on providing your readers with valuable content, and watch the adsense revenue trickle in.
