Quite frankly, when you start surfing the Internet for ways to promote your online business, you are bombarded with hundreds of venues of advertising. They range from pay per clicks, link exchanges, submitting to search engines, ezine ads, safe lists, genealogy lists, email blasters, forums, newsletters, forums, blogs, and rss feeds. This is just scratching the surface of what is being offered out on the Internet today. You can spend 12 hours a day on the internet researching the best and most affordable way to market your online business. Along the way, you will be offered things such as “Secrets of the Internet Gurus, Buy now only $97” or “The Newest Innovation Online, only $39.95”. Before you know it, you could go through thousands of dollars. You are buying items because they sound good. Common sense says “ don't do this”. But in the back of your mind, you are thinking this one item could my ticket to $10K a month, on the internet. It could be, but chances are it is not.
What you need is a plan, a schedule and a budget. The plan maybe to spend 2 hours a day for the next month researching online promotion tools. You will need to have a filing system set up on your computer, to file things a way. You will also need an offline mechanism, such as a binder, to file anything that you print. Then you will need a schedule that you will stick to. This could be from 8pm to 10pm everyday Monday - Friday doing your research. You would take the weekend off to give your mind a break. While doing your research, be sure to freeze your credit cards in a large bowl of water so that you do not have immediate access to them. This way if the 'got to have it now fairy' comes along, you will be able to resist.
