New Online Shopping Portal – Donate money to your chosen charity as you browse

A newly developed shopping portal website now allows Internet shoppers and browsers to benefit their selected charity or good cause simply by visiting www.affinitybutton.com , and registering free of charge for an Affinity Button.

The process takes not more than a few minutes, during which a new Buttonholder is able to specify one of the charities or good causes registered on the website as their preferred beneficiary. Once registered, every time the Buttonholder visits any of the increasing number of vendors offering goods and services through the affinitybutton.com link, the selected charity or good cause automatically becomes entitled to receive a payment- the more vendors visited, the greater the donation. And it costs neither the Buttonholder nor the selected charity or good cause a penny! There is no obligation to buy any of the goods or services displayed.

Any charity or good cause can also apply to be registered on the website and to download an Affinity Button. By encouraging their members, friends and supporters to visit www.affinitybutton.com through their Affinity Button or to download an Affinity Button onto their own desktops specifying the charity as the beneficiary, and to visit the vendors displayed, supporters of the charity or good cause can earn funds for them automatically.

Many major charities are already registered with the website, as are a host of vendors offering a wide range of choice for shoppers on the website. The site has been in development for many months and is constantly reviewed and up-dated with new vendors appearing on a daily basis

“We see this as a major new way to support charities and good causes”, commented Andy Kay, project manager of Affinity On Line Limited which hosts the new website, “It is like visiting a shopping centre from your armchair and just looking raises money for your good cause, and if you find something you're looking for to buy, that's just a bonus, and there's a range of offers available to Affinity Buttonholders from our vendors.”

The proprietors of the website see it as an attractive and painless means of fund raising for local as well as national and international charities. “”Every parent/teacher association in the country should be applying for an Affinity Button” observed Andy “They are always looking for new ways of fundraising for their schools and this is an ideal opportunity to raise funds without the need for organisational effort”

Interest in the new website is high, but Andy Kay sees the main priority for the charities and good causes already registered on the site as encouraging their supporters to use their Affinity Buttons as frequently as possible. “Clicking is the key to generating funds”, explains Andy, “Just downloading an Affinity Button isn't the end of the story, but the beginning. Downloading an Affinity Button and then not using it is a bit like cooking yourself a meal and then not eating it!”

Charities or good causes wishing to register on the website should visit www.affinitybuton.com or e-mail marketing@affinitybutton.com or telephone Andy Kay on 01260 299735
