What Is The Effect of Digital Technology in Publicity Media?

We are very much influenced by television and movies. VCRs and DVDs are available for entertainment. If we want news there are news programs on television, there is the newspaper (local, national, and international), and there is also the internet.

"Pictures don't lie", a very popular quote before issues on digital conspiracy start popping out. Before, pictures were used on trial courts for evidences without questions. We used to believe every video about paranormal activities. We are aware of what we call camera tricks and visual effects but we know that they are used only on movies. We assumed that all sources of news and current events are very reliable because they are documented. We are oblivious of the fact that there are those who use the television, newspapers, magazines and internet just to make money. They use digital images to fool everybody.

I have heard of those before. Like the companies that were sued by popular artists for replacing their bodies on the photos with undressed bodies without notifying them. A group who took pictures in a park and after they had the film developed it showed their smiling faces with graves before them. They asked the person who developed it, he told them that it is normal that sometimes the machine fails and creates such overlapping of pictures. Another is a picture of a house on fire that was published by a newspaper, which turns out to be edited.

How can we now trust newspapers and internet? How do we know if the pictures we are looking at are true? It is for us to know and learn what and whom to believe. Do not believe everything you see, read between the lines.
