Dear Visitor,

We at topdownloads.net do our best to provide you free and quality software. These items are submitted by independent users. We rigorously scan them with antivirus software for any malware content and if found we remove them instantly.

A service known as Site Advisor has started rating websites on the internet to warn users from harmful sites. The idea is very good and we very much appreciate the spirit of it, but recently they have started targeting small sites like ours with wrong ratings. We do not know for what purpose they are doing this but our apprehension is they are goading people to buy their internet security software by scaring them.

http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/topdownloads.net they have downloaded 160 software out of which only 1 was red (which we have removed already) and 2 are yellow (which are falsely detected). All other 157 downloads from 160 are green. Still they have put us in Yellow marking indicating that we have small fraction of downloads which people might consider as adware / spyware. This rating is there for last six months and we already removed the offensive downloads months back.

Our main problem with Site Advisor is while they are severely punishing small sites, they let go larger sites, most probably in fear of a law suite.

We would like to prove our point by citing the case of one of the largest download sites for which they have downloaded more than 7367 software and most of them are with red markings and still they say that the site does not have any problem.

Our request to you is please check our site yourself and then make the judgment.

We hope that you will enjoy your visit.
